Willington Hall Photographer
I cannot believe I’ve been staring at my screen for so long wondering how to start this blog post. Having known Keith and Jyl so well now I thought it would be easier to write about them and their day. It turns out it’s really tough to know where to start…
I met Jyl and Keith 30 months before their wedding date at the De Vere Cranage Estate wedding fayre. They were both there supporting Keith’s mum and amazing cake maker Anne’s Cake Creations at her stand. Having already booked their big day at the beautiful Willington Hall there were a range of suppliers keen for their business. Having a mum in the wedding industry meant that they both knew and had great relationships with many professionals. Back then I was the ‘new kid on the block’ with limited experience. It was a huge surprise when they asked for a consultation. We met up a week later at The Windmill, Tabley for a couple of drinks and they booked me on the spot. I was thrilled to be their Willington Hall Wedding Photographer From then on, I felt like I had made two new fab friends! The next 30 months saw Keith come to fix my really crappy boiler. Jyl would come along too to keep me company. They recommended me to their friends who booked me for their weddings too. We would see one and other at subsequent wedding fayres and each time we’d count down the months.
Willington Hall Photoshoot
Before we knew it, the time had come for their pre-wedding shoot. If you’ve not seen all the photos from it yet, click HERE! It will open in a new tab so you won’t lose this page! I’ve put a few below for you anyway 🙂
If there was one thing that is clear to see with Jyl and Keith it’s that they make each other so happy. Nothing makes my job as a photographer easier than a couple who can arrive at the shoot and act like i’m not there. The ability to shut out the world and laugh together over the silliest of things will always make a beautiful photo. Keith and Jyl own this! Their images never fail to make me smile 🙂

Finally, after 30 months of planning, the big day had arrived. I was stupidly thrilled to be working with my favourite florist Jacqui O Fairytale Flowers. Having worked with Jacqui on many other weddings and projects at Dorfold Hall, Thornton Manor and Crewe Hall I knew there was going to be fantastic floral arrangements. She certainly didn’t disappoint! If you think the bouquet was beautiful, just wait until you see the stunning floral arch she created!
I must say that the morning with Jyl and her beautiful bridesmaids and parents was so lovely. No big dramas. Just an overwhelming sense of calm. It was perfect. I have to give a mention to the super lovely Laura Wilson MUA who did a fantastic job on the girl’s makeup and Whimsy Style who created such a beautifully intricate up do for Jyl. The glam squad certainly did a brilliant job!
St Helen’s Church, Northwich
Considering the fact I wouldn’t describe myself as a saint, it’s nice to know that a fellow Helen was. Heading over to the beautiful St Helen Witton’s Church, Northwich we met up with Keith and the boys who were certainly in high spirits. I’m not sure if Keith is fantastic actor or if he genuinely had no nerves whatsoever! Regardless, we had a good giggle together in the moments leading up to Jyl’s arrival.
Arriving in style in a 1930’s style Beauford by Cheshire and Lancashire Cars Jyl certainly made a beautiful entrance. I must say that having worked with Cheshire and Lancashire Cars on several occasions they have always been wonderful!
Massive shout out to my second shooter Luke for capturing this image. I bloody love it!

It’s fab going to all of my weddings with a second shooter. The opportunity for them to capture such priceless moments such as this whilst I am at the front of church is fantastic.

One thing I love about Church weddings is that my couples get a moment to be together. As the guests move on to the next venue, the chance to hold your new husband or wife and chat about your morning is priceless. It sometimes also give us a chance to have a sneaky detour, enjoy the champers and have some fun before greeting guests again at the wedding breakfast. One thing I love about being a Willington Hall Photographer is the chance to make the most of the impressive driveway and gardens. Stopping the gorgeous Beauford on the way in allowed us to get some beautiful and uninterrupted shots with the car.
Turns out Grandma is well and truly skilled with a phone. I think she was rather pleased with this one of her daughter and granddaughter!
Weddings at Willington Hall
I have to say that I have never seen the Hamilton Ballroom at Willington Hall look so beautiful. The brilliant Karen and Liz at Wedding Day Details did a phenomenal job alongside Jacqui O Fairytale Flowers in transforming the space. The bright colourful blooms and elegant menu cards, chair covers and glassware looked stunning. To finish it off was the most beautiful cake by the one and only Anne’s Cake Creations. I’m sure there was no pressure there Anne doing the cake for your own son’s wedding. Either way, she nailed it!
Now I know I mentioned earlier that if you loved Jyl’s bouquet, wait and see what the super talented Jacqui O did with the flower arch. Well, here we go! #weddingflowergoals
I think you’ll agree that the brand new and extremely beautiful orangery at Willington Hall has never looked better! Jacqui O – I salute you! You are the master of incredibly unique and beautiful wedding flowers! It would also seem that the guests agreed with me. After dinner they were literally queuing up to have their photo taken with the beautiful arch.
Another reason I am so excited when couples book me to be their Willington Hall Photographer is because of the beautiful gardens. Jyl and Keith made the most of the outdoor space at their gorgeous wedding and had much fun and mischief with a variety of garden games. It included one very competitive and tense game of snakes and ladders (I think the lads just enjoyed cuddling up on the board together). Another hit was the jenga. Fab idea, apart from the positioning of drinks on the same table. It made for some entertaining photos but a couple of extra trips to the bar! Not surprisingly, it was one of my past brides, Ange who caused the jenga chaos!
If you made it to the end of this blog. Congratulations! There were too many great moments not to share! Please feel free to share this post with family or friends or leave a comment below.
