"A mentor is someone who sees more talent and ability within you, than you see in yourself, and helps bring it out of you." — Bob Proctor

I'm not really sure how mentoring works and if it's right for me. Can we have a chat?

FAQ

01.

Absolutely! For many of us, we kind of stumbled our way into photography and never really had anyone help us in the day to day running and building of our businesses. My job as a mentor isn't to magically appear with all of the answers. It's to ask you the right questions so that you can find the answers that are right for you and your business. There's no one size fits all in this industry so let's chat and see if we're a good fit!

If I decide to go ahead, what's the process?

02.

Once I stop doing my happy dance around my office, I will send you the link to the invoice. As soon as it is paid you will then receive a questionnaire to complete which will give me a really great overview of you, your business and the areas of support you would like. With regards to booking your sessions in, it's super easy to see my availability and book yourself in via a Calendly link. It's advised that we do one session per month, but I am super flexible.

Is there a specific list of topics that we cover?

03.

"I think the greatest thing we give each other is encouragement...knowing that I'm talking to someone in this mentoring relationship who's interested in the big idea here is very, very important to me. I think if it were just about helping me get to the next step, it would be a heck of a lot less interesting." — Anne Sweeney

Every single one of my mentoring sessions is completely bespoke to each of my amazing photographers. Apart from our first meeting where we do a wide overview of your business and your online presence, I don't have any 'must have' sessions because our time is precious. You're making a big investment in me and I want you to have the most of every minute. What we cover each month depends very much on what you would like to cover and spend time on whether it's curating your instagram feed, editing images together, website critique, finding your ideal client tasks, whatever we do it will be with my absolute full attention and passion!

If Carlsberg made mentoring rcviews...

A catch-up at the start of each session helps to ease you in, getting you ready for the magic that is Helen's knowledge.

But it's not just the friendly, fun and wacky demeanour that makes Helen stand out; it's her ability to make you see your business, your photography, and your marketing in a whole new light. She's like the Mary Poppins of mentorship - practically perfect in every way, except with a lot more sass.

And let's not forget about her knack for challenging the status quo. While others may stick to the tried-and-true methods, Helen encourages you to think outside the box. In my case, Helen didn’t pull her punches, I wouldn’t want her to. I need the full on approach, this is what I got and it is exactly what pushes me to strive for those greater goals, improve my marketing, my website and my overall view of my business.

But perhaps the best part about Helen is her unwavering commitment to authenticity. In a world full of Instagram filters and Photoshop wizardry, she's like a breath of fresh air - She reminds us that real beauty lies in embracing our quirks and imperfections, and that sometimes, it's okay to let our freak flags fly. Just check out Helen's website, those quirks and personality scream out at you!

So if you're looking for a photography mentor who's equal parts hilarious and insightful, look no further than Helen Williams. With her by your side, you'll not only enhance your business and your knowledge but also gain a newfound appreciation for the art of photography - and maybe even for the occasional fart joke!"

"So I’ve been a wedding photographer for a number of years now. I have achieved something great in regards to my knowledge and my business. I seem to be performing well in saturated and competitive business, but, not being one to settle with what I had, I wanted to ensure I was investing in myself and my business to further strive forward to not only reach, but exceed my desired goals.

One way I thought to do this is to seek the guidance of someone who is absolutely smashing the wedding photography industry and making waves so big, that I need to strap on my arm bands and unicorn rubber ring and ride those waves!

After looking around, there are so many amazing photographers out there doing their thing, but someone stood out. They stood out due to their amazing work, which was colourful, fun, energetic and showed a personality that shone through in their images.

This stand out photographer is the enigma that is Helen Williams.

Helen Williams isn't just any old photography mentor; she's the Gandalf of the camera world, leading us through the wilds of marketing and photography with the wisdom of a sage and the humour of a pissed up Welsh comedian.

First off, let's talk about her teaching style. Forget boring lectures and dry PowerPoint presentations; Helen's approach is more like a comedy show with a side of valuable insights. And yes, you better believe that topics like "boobs, bogeys, and farts" are fair game in her sessions.
