Whenever we get an enquiry for Sandhole Oak Barn we do a little happy dance/fist pump the air or at least do a celebratory spin in the office chair. We absolutely love it there! Everything about Sandhole has been designed with beautiful weddings in mind from the large floor to ceiling windows flooding the space with natural light to the beautiful clocktower overlooking the lake, perfect for summer outdoor ceremonies. The on site accommodation which makes the perfect space for preparations on the morning and don’t even get us started on the sunsets!

Sandhole Oak Barn is an absolute dream to photograph at! Of course, we couldn’t cover the best bits without mentioning Annette, Jane and the most incredible catering team at Top Table Weddings and Events. If there is one thing that makes us wedding photographers very happy during a long and busy day, it is good food! I’d like to publicly thank the team at Top Table for making sure we too are treated like Kings and Queens. You guys rock!

We’ve been shooting weddings at Sandhole Oak Barn for many years now and we just love how as the seasons change so does the venue and the opportunities for photos on your big day. The way the barn just fits into the landscape means that no two days really ever look the same. I don’t think we could ever bore of being here.

Bridal Preparations at Sandhole Oak Barn

The Granary Cottage at Sandhole truly is the perfect place for you and your bridesmaids to get ready on the morning of your wedding day. The spacious rooms ensure there is plenty of space and mirrors for the largest of bridal parties to get their hair and make up done on the day!

Grooms are important too though…

The long sweeping driveway means that whichever mode of transport you choose to arrive in, there’s ample opportunity to make a statement. Whether arriving in a Mustang, Mini or McLaren there is always a photo opportunity for the boys to show off their toys before the ceremony!

Wedding Ceremonies at Sandhole Oak Barn

When it comes to having your wedding at Sandhole Oak Barn, I love that my couples can choose between an indoor or outdoor ceremony. The ceremony space inside of Sandhole is simply beautiful with the rustic wooden beams, romantic fairylights and beautiful natural light streaming in at the top of the aisle. Outdoor ceremonies underneath the clock tower are equally as spectacular with stunning views over the lake and the countryside beyond. You really do feel like you are in your own perfect world.

It’s always fun to have some photographs with your wedding cars!

Before sneaking some time away from your guests for some beautiful portraits of you both 🙂 My favourite time of the day!

In the meantime, allow Annette and her amazing team at Top Table to look after your guests with their beautiful canapes and drinks. They’ll also ensure that your wedding breakfast space is set out perfectly!

Before you know it your champagne flutes will be filled and tissues on standby for the speeches.

Sunsets at Sandhole Oak Barn

If I had to name my favourite thing about photographing weddings at Sandhole Oak Barn, it would have to be the spectacular sunsets. As the speeches are over and the evening draws in you’ll always find me looking out over the lake, tracking the sun and clouds to see if mother nature is going to treat us. Evenings at Sandhole spent outdoors on the terrace or under the clock tower are simply magical. This is the perfect opportunity to get some more beautiful photographs of you both and sometime we let the bridal party tag along too!

But what if it rains?

I have developed a phrase to cope with the wet stuff which is… ‘don’t fight it – light it!’ I’m one of those crazy photographers who drags their couples outside the moment the heavens open to get something a little bit different!

As always, I will never leave you on your wedding day until the sun is set and we can venture outside to create something memorable. Plus, anyone who knows me knows how much I love to party so I’ll be with you for some time after your first dance to capture all of your guests best dancefloor moves!
