Marianne and Emma's Knutsford Wedding
Two brides, two sausage dogs, an ice cream run and a grandma who tore up the dance floor.
Check my availabilityMarianne and Emma got married on Friday 14 August 2026 at The Hidden Barn @ 94 on King Street in Knutsford. Seventy six guests, two sausage dogs and no DJ. The brides made a playlist for the whole day instead.
They booked me as their Knutsford wedding photographer, and their questionnaire was clear. They don't do posy stuff. Candid over posed, every time.
Before the ceremony
Belle and Brian, their two sausage dogs, were dressed for the occasion before anyone else. Cheshire Dog Lady looked after them for the day.

The ceremony
The ceremony was at midday, with immediate family, a legal witness each and, of course, the dogs. Marianne wore a pale blue suit. Emma wore a cream jumpsuit.

Confetti
Straight out of the front door and into a wall of confetti.

Family, friends and a lot of dog
Then family photos, and Belle and Brian got their moment.

The heart shaped sunglasses came out. Emma's said Belle and Brian. Marianne's had the date.

Ice cream before the guests
The rest of the guests weren't due until 2pm. So Marianne, Emma, Belle and Brian walked round the corner to The Real Fruit Creamery for ice cream, and asked me to come along.

Back at the barn, one little guest was on camera duty.

The afternoon
Guests arrived, the drinks started and the games came out. There was a mini pool table on the go.

Then speeches. After that, Candyland brought popcorn and candy floss, and the bubbles came out.

The groups
A handful of family and friends groups, then everyone straight back to the party.

Pizza time
Jordys Pizza fed everyone in the evening.

By now Marianne had swapped the suit jacket for a white tee, and the hugs were flying.

Golden hour in Knutsford
I took Marianne and Emma out for portraits. We started down a cobbled lane full of flowers.

Then into the trees, just as the evening sun came through.

Then a twirl in the road.

Cake and the party
Back inside, the table football was on the go.

The cake was by Merryfall Cakes. Pink, orange and red, topped with sunflowers.

They pretended to take a bite first. Then they cut it properly.

Then the playlist took over. No DJ, just the songs Marianne and Emma picked. That didn't stop anyone partying hard, the brides included.

A special shout out to Grandma Gina
Marianne's Grandma Gina tore up the dance floor. She started all kinds of trouble.

At one point she had a circle of guests clapping round her. When I grow up, I want to be just like her.

Marianne and Emma, thank you for having me. Give Belle and Brian a scratch behind the ears from me.
What Marianne and Emma said
★★★★★
Helen was incredible at our wedding! She was prompt to respond to our enquires and then setting up our consultation. The day itself rolled around and she was exceptional! She made all our guests feel at ease and was very happy with our candid over posy style and delivered this amazingly.
I would recommend Helen for everyone’s wedding!
