Well, all I can say is that Gemma and Mike know exactly how to throw one fantastic celebration and they did so in style saying ‘I do’ at the beautiful St Margaret’s Church, Wrenbury followed by an incredible sunny day at Combermere Abbey. I had an absolute blast!
I arrived on the morning to a very relaxed bride and her maids getting ready, everything under control and all the pretty details ready for me to snap and boy did they look GORGEOUS! In my line of work I see a lot of flowers, shoes and shiny bits but Gemma’s stunning Ted Baker bridal shoes and coral pink blooms by the super talented team at The Flower Divas just make me do a little happy dance! The gorgeous girls had their natural beauty taken to another level thanks to the fantastic skills of Michaela Preece MUA and hair by Lindsey McElmeel.
Weddings at St Margaret’s Church, Wrenbury
I love shooting weddings at the lovely St Margaret’s Church, Wrenbury. Nestled in the heart of the Cheshire countryside and clearly such a huge part of the local community it’s always fantastic to see the large number of local well wishers who come out to get a glimpse of the bride and send on their best wishes. Arriving in high spirits, Gemma and her bridal party were ready to have their moment. Got to love a good bridesmaid photobomb!
I think it’s safe to say that despite her calm appearance all morning, Gemma was getting a little nervous as the organist began to play and her guests stood eager for her walk down the aisle.
Gorgeous Summer Wedding at Combermere Abbey
Following the beautiful ceremony Gemma and Mike (now officially Mr and Mrs White) made their way to Combermere Abbey in style with this fantastic vehicle. Gorgeous!
Gorgeous Flowers, Cake and Favours at Combermere Abbey
Sam and her talented team at The Flower Divas did a phenomenal job of dressing the wedding breakfast marquee at Combermere Abbey. The coral pink theme continued indoors bringing a bright and fresh look to the space.
The Singing Waiters at Combermere Abbey
The wedding breakfast is usually when I allow myself a little breather to back up our work so far, rehydrate and refuel before taking on the evening celebrations. To be fair, most wedding breakfasts are non-eventful with guests filling their bellies with beautiful food and wine. Thanks to the amazing team at Olive Tree Catering everyone was well fed and watered throughout the afternoon. There was something a little bit more going on however that was getting guests a little hot under the collar. Angry glances across the table; whispered words about the service; a pretty blonde in a suit who was clearly on a power trip and handsome young waiter who was being humiliated by his boss. There was a rebellion building and it looked like the nasty pasty in the suit was going to face the brunt of it. Until… everyone discovered they weren’t even part of the catering team – they were Singing Waiters! What a way to get the party started!
The dedication shown by the female wedding guests to catch the bouquet was second to none! The throwing resulted in something that looked more like professional wrestling match with the bouquet even being stolen by a sneaky victor who was keen to get a ring on her finger. I’m wondering as I’m writing this, has the ring arrived yet? Please do let me know!
As the sun began to set and an enormous amount of evening guests arrived to join the party Gemma and Mike formally kicked off the night’s celebrations by cutting their French Fancy wedding cake and getting their groove on. The gorgeous love letters provided a perfect backdrop and was supplied by Your Cherished Moments.
I absolutely adore photographing weddings at Combermere Abbey. Are you or someone you know getting married there? If so, get in touch to discuss your wedding photography! You can contact me by clicking here!
